Less-lethal. Fully legal. Loud enough to end it.

Flash bangs, trip-wire early warning devices, pepper grenades and less-lethal ammunition, all conceived, developed and manufactured in South Africa. Designed to protect lives without ending them.

§03 / Sound output

What each device puts out, and what it sounds like

Sound is the working part of the product. Press play on any device for a safe, scaled rendering of its report against a live waveform.

Volume safe. Playback is a scaled representation for comparison only, peak limited and nowhere near the real output. Figures are as stated by the manufacturer. Thunder Flashes are held at 130 dB, the legal limit for general sale in South Africa.

§04 / 02:14

This is what the perimeter looks like when it matters

No moon, no yard lights, and a fence line you cannot see the end of. Every product in this range exists because of the twenty seconds between the first sound and knowing where it came from.

Perimeter

Electrified fencing, a bush line cleared five metres inside the fence, and trip-wire early warning devices on the footpaths and dry riverbeds attackers actually use.

§05 / Planner

Work out what your fence line actually needs

Click anywhere on the ground to place a device. Each one throws a coverage dome, and the readout tells you what is still exposed and what it costs.

§08 / Export

Licensed to supply beyond the border

One of the few South African manufacturers of less-lethal devices holding the licences to export. Franschhoek out to the world.

OriginFranschhoek, ZA

Destinations shown are illustrative of the export licence footprint. Security companies operating across Sub-Saharan Africa, law enforcement procurement and international distributors are all supplied under the same compliance record applied domestically.

§09 / Manufacture

Proudly South African. Built for the world.

Flashbangs was founded by Ardy van Huyssteen, ex-Koevoet, together with a chemical engineer who prefers to remain anonymous. Between them they saw the same gap: law-abiding people at real risk of violent attack, and a market full of products that offer a false sense of security.

Years of research and legal counsel later, the result is a range of non-lethal deterrents that do something measurable when they are used. Every product is conceived, developed and manufactured in Franschhoek, never imported and rebranded, for terrain, threats and a regulatory framework the team knows first-hand.

From the farms of the Free State to security operations in the Eastern Cape, the range is trusted by farmers, PSIRA-registered security professionals and responsible citizens. Same standard at home and abroad: no shortcuts, no compromise, and products proven in the field rather than certified on paper.
